Job summary

H&R Block seeks an experienced Bookkeeper to deliver precise bookkeeping, payroll and client service. You will post financial transactions, reconcile accounts, and prepare payroll to support our community-focused practice.

This role requires 1–3 years of bookkeeping, a high school diploma or equivalent, and relevant certifications. Experience with Xero is preferred. You will communicate with clients and vendors and contribute to client retention and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• National bookkeeping and payroll certifications or the ability to obtain them.
• 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience required.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, client suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and client growth opportunities.
