Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to deliver exceptional bookkeeping, payroll and customer service.

You\'ll be an integral part of delivering on our brand purpose to provide help and inspire communities everywhere. In this role you will post financial transactions, reconcile accounts, generate statements, process payroll, handle 1099s and W2s, and communicate with clients, suppliers and banking contacts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• National bookkeeping and payroll certifications or ability to obtain.
• 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and GAAP.
• Ability to interpret and apply instructions, policies and regulations.
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
• Analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to multi-task and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, client suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and client growth opportunities.
