H&R Block seeks an experienced Bookkeeper to deliver precise bookkeeping, payroll, and customer service. You will be a core part of fulfilling our mission to provide help and inspire confidence in communities we serve.

Responsibilities include posting transactions, reconciling accounts, generating financial statements, processing payroll, and preparing tax forms while maintaining client relationships with professionalism and discretion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or equivalent not required, but a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certification in bookkeeping and payroll by a national body or ability to obtain certification is required.
• 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience is required.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and GAAP is required.
• Ability to interpret and apply instructions, policies and regulations.
• Discretion with confidential information is essential.
• Strong analytical and detail-oriented skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities; able to multi-task and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts to ensure accuracy.
• Generate and analyze financial statements for clients.
• Prepare and process payroll for clients.
• Generate 1099s and W-2s and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, vendors, and banking contacts; support client needs.
