Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to deliver accurate bookkeeping, payroll and client service. You will input transactions, reconcile accounts and generate financial statements for multiple clients, ensuring compliance with standards.

The role involves payroll processing, tax form preparation, client liaison, and contributing to client retention and growth with a focus on accuracy and discretion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• National bookkeeping and payroll certifications from the National Bookkeeping Association, or ability to obtain certifications.
• 1–3 years bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and GAAP & procedures.
• Ability to interpret and apply instructions, policies, and regulations.
• Treat confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
• Analytical and detail-oriented.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to multi-task and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, client suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and client growth opportunities.
