H&R Block is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to deliver accurate bookkeeping, payroll, and exceptional client service. You will play a key role in supporting our brand promise to help and inspire communities.

The role involves posting transactions, reconciling accounts, preparing payroll, and handling tax statements while engaging with clients and vendors. The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience and holds or is pursuing national certifications in bookkeeping and payroll,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• National bookkeeping and payroll certifications from the National Bookkeeping Association, or the ability to successfully obtain certifications.
• 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, client suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and client growth opportunities.
