Job summary

H&R Block is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to deliver accurate bookkeeping, payroll and exceptional customer service. You’ll post transactions, reconcile accounts, and generate financial statements to support client needs and the company’s brand purpose of helping communities.

You will manage payroll processes, prepare 1099s and W2s, and maintain confidential client information, using industry best practices. Join a collaborative, growth-oriented team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–3 years bookkeeping experience and knowledge of GAAP.
• Certification or ability to obtain bookkeeping and payroll credentials.
• Experience handling payroll and client communications is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, client suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and client growth opportunities.
