Job summary

Insomniac is seeking an Operations Manager focused on back of house operations for high-profile dance events. The role requires meticulous pre-planning and on-site execution in a hybrid office model, reporting to the Senior Festival Producer.

This is a full-time, non-remote position with a strong emphasis on cross-department coordination. You will manage budgets, credentialing, artist hospitality, and logistics while guiding a team through load-in, staffing, and on-site problem solving.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of event coordinating/planning and execution.
• Proficiency in spreadsheets.
• Ability to effectively manage groups of staff.
• Must be motivated with an “Everything is possible” attitude.
• Must be an active problem solver, instilled with a sense of urgency for projects large and small.

Responsibilities

• Manage all departmental planning and execution of back of house operations.
• Partner directly with the Festival Promoter and Producer to adjust as necessary to meet all goals.
• Build radio channel matrix, communicate equipment order quantities, schedule radio pick-up hours, and work with radio vendor to execute equipment requirements on-site.
• Partner with Site Production to ensure all departments have enough workspace on-site.
• Manage all load-in and/or truck stop operations, including hiring a Gate Guard or Truck Stop Manager and creating a load-in operations plan.
• Forecast staff catering needs, bid and employ staff catering vendors, and coordinate dining operations.
• Lead the advancing team to execute needs with Insomniac staff and vendors.
• Coordinate travel and hotel requests to align with policies.
• Create the staff credential and check-in systems and train staff.
• Oversee artist relations, hospitality, transportation, and dressing room operations.
