Job summary

Insomniac Events is seeking a Manager, Building & Engineering to lead infrastructure planning for large-scale festivals and events. You will partner with production teams on site builds, ensure engineering integrity and regulatory compliance, and manage budgets and safety programs domestically and internationally as required.

The role requires 6+ years in building engineering or facilities management, a relevant engineering degree, and experience with large events.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, operations management or related field.
• Experience in nightlife or music industry environments.
• Knowledge of sustainable building practices and energy management.
• Experience supporting large scale live events, festivals, or entertainment venues.
• Familiarity with temporary power systems and large scale event builds.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and building/fire codes.
• Proven experience managing vendors and contractors.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Must be motivated with an “Everything is possible” attitude.
• Must be an active problem solver, instilled with a sense of urgency for projects large and small.

Responsibilities

• Festival & Event Engineering: Manage infrastructure planning for festival and large scale events.
• Vendor & Contractor Management: Source, hire, and manage contractors, engineers and various vendors; manage scope of work, budgets, timelines and performance.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with building codes, fire codes and OSHA standards; maintain permits, inspections and certifications; develop safety protocols and incident reporting; train on safety and operations.
• Budget & Cost Control: Develop and manage operating expenditure budgets; identify cost saving opportunities; track expenses; travel frequently.
