Job summary

West Marine in San Diego, CA is seeking a Sales Associate to deliver exceptional customer service and drive sales. You will understand boating needs, recommend products, and facilitate transactions to create a positive shopping experience.

Responsibilities include maintaining pricing and displays, assisting with inventory and orders, supporting BOPIS/ship-from-store, and ensuring a clean, organized sales floor. Flexible hours including weekends are required.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication.

• Familiarity with merchandise and willingness to learn.
• POS systems; capacity to learn new systems quickly.
• Attention to detail and time management.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome customers entering the store.
• Understand needs with open-ended questions and active listening.
• Provide product knowledge and suggestive selling.
• Assist with product selection and direct to aisles.
• Inform about services and assist with orders or dropship.
• Handle transactions including returns and the register.
• Maintain pricing, tagging, and display signage.
• Assist with inventory, receiving, stocking, and replenishment.
• Keep the floor neat, clean, and safe.
• Support BOPIS and ship-from-store processes as needed.
• Alert management to security or loss prevention issues.
• Complete training and SOPs; work flexible hours including nights/weekends/holidays.
