Job summary

West Marine in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Sales Associate to deliver exceptional customer service, understand shopper needs, offer product recommendations, and handle transactions accurately. You will maintain pricing, arrange displays, and support in-store and online pickup orders (BOPIS).

The ideal candidate has strong communication and sales skills, knowledge of boating products, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Prior retail experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous boating and/or retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assess needs using open-ended questions.
• Provide product knowledge and suggestive selling to boost sales.
• Process transactions, returns, and manage the register accurately.
• Maintain accurate pricing, signage, and product displays.
• Assist with inventory, stocking, and replenishment duties.
• Support BOPIS and ship-from-store processes as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized sales floor.
