Job summary

West Marine in Baltimore seeks a Sales Associate who delivers exceptional customer service and helps customers find the right boating gear. You will greet shoppers, share product knowledge, and process transactions while maintaining inviting displays and a clean store.

You will assist with inventory, pricing, and BOPIS/ship-from-store orders, support loss prevention, and complete training on SOPs. The role requires flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Retail or boating experience preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with needs using open-ended questions.
• Provide product knowledge and suggestive selling.
• Direct customers to aisles and assist with services or special orders.
• Handle transactions, returns, and manage the register.
• Audit pricing and maintain displays.
• Assist with inventory receiving and stocking.
• Keep store clean and safe, report hazards.
• Support BOPIS and ship from store orders.
• Comply with SOPs and training; flexible schedule including nights/weekends/holidays.
• Assist with security and asset protection.
