Job summary

Altium Packaging in Mt. Airy, NC is hiring an experienced Machine Operator to run blow mold, grinder and trimmer machinery on a 12-hour shift. Base pay is $22.00 per hour with overtime opportunities.

You will support production lines, troubleshoot issues, and ensure quality checks and safe operation. You will set up and adjust machines, monitor outputs, and maintain records. The role requires reading blueprints and using precision tools such as calipers and micrometers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of machine operator experience.
• Blow mold operation experience.
• Working knowledge of high-speed machinery and measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical skills required.
• Machine maintenance experience is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals.
• Ability to work overtime.
• Physically able to stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Set up machines (calibration, cleaning) to start production.
• Control and adjust machine settings (speed).
• Operate blow-mold machines (wheels, reciprocator, or shuttle).
• Perform audits, weights and quality checks.
• Check output for machine-related defects.
• Maintain records of approved/defective units.
• Enter data into SPC database for quality control.
• Troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on blow mold equipment.
• Repair or replace pneumatic/hydraulic lines.
• Maintain activity logs.
