Job summary

Altium Packaging in Atlanta, GA is seeking an experienced Machine Operator to operate blow mold, grinder and trimmer machines and support equipment on a 12-hour A shift. You will troubleshoot production issues, perform minor maintenance and coordinate with co-workers to maximize efficiency and profits.

The role requires 2+ years as a machine operator and familiarity with high-speed machinery, blueprints, and measurement tools. Overtime may be required in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a machine operator
• 2+ years' blow mold machine operation preferred
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
• Physical stamina and strength; able to stand long periods

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
• Set up machines to start a production cycle (calibration, cleaning)
• Control and adjust machine settings (speed)
• Operate blow-mold machines (wheel, reciprocator, or shuttle)
• Perform audits, weights and quality checks
• Check output for machine-related mistakes or defects
• Keep records of approved/defective units or final products
• Enter data into SPC database for quality control measures
• Troubleshoot, perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on blow mold and support equipment
• Repair or replace pneumatic and hydraulic lines
• Maintain activity logs
