The American Red Cross in Columbia, MO is hiring Blood Collection Staff – Customer Service to support life-saving blood drives. You will connect with donors, help create a friendly environment, and follow safety procedures during donation events.

Paid phlebotomy training is provided to grow your healthcare skills within the nation’s leading humanitarian organization. Ideal candidates have strong customer service skills, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work varied shifts including

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required.
• A current, valid driver's license with good driving record is required.
• Physical requirements may include lifting, pushing or pulling heavy weights and long hours.

Responsibilities

• Take the time to personally connect with donors – listen to their stories and explain the donation impact.
• Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming environment so donors return.
• Be detailed oriented all day to ensure blood collection meets goals and safety standards.
• May drive Red Cross vehicles and assist with setting up/tearing down equipment at donation sites.
• Position may require a minimum height of 60 inches to operate vehicles safely.
