Job summary

The American Red Cross in Baltimore, MD is seeking individuals to join our team as phlebotomy trainees. No prior medical experience is required; you will receive paid phlebotomy training and grow within the nation’s leading humanitarian organization.

You will assist with blood collection at donation sites, ensure a welcoming environment for donors, and follow safety procedures. A valid driver’s license and customer service skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service experience and verbal communication skills required.
• A valid driver's license required.
• Physical ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights, and to stand for long periods.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Connect with donors to listen to their stories and explain the impact of their donation.
• Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming environment for donors.
• Ensure donations meet regulatory requirements and can be safely transfused.
• May drive Red Cross vehicles and assist with setup/teardown of equipment at donation sites.
• Schedule may include early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays.
