Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking individuals to support blood collection efforts across Fairfax, Virginia and nearby communities. This role provides paid phlebotomy training with no prior medical experience required and offers opportunities to grow within the nation’s leading humanitarian organization.

You will work with a team to create a welcoming donor environment, transport and set up equipment, and follow safety procedures while collecting lifesaving donations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required.
• A current, valid driver’s license with good driving record is required.
• Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights and adapt to long hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist with blood collection at mobile drives and donation sites.
• Create a welcoming environment for donors and ensure safety procedures are followed.
• May drive Red Cross vehicles and help setup/teardown equipment at donation sites.
• Ensure blood collected meets goals and regulatory requirements.
