Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Technologist for the Blood Bank at Winston Campus. The role involves third shift coverage with weekend work as needed and ensuring accurate lab testing and blood product preparation.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in a related science, NAACLS program completion, and ASCP certification. This position supports patient care through quality lab operations and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or chemical/physical/biological science from an accredited university.
• NAACLS approved Medical Technology program preferred.
• Technologist/Scientist Certification from ASCP or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital standards and procedures and communicates effectively.
• Ensures accurate and timely laboratory testing and proper specimen handling.
• Prepares and dispenses blood products according to protocols.
• Follows QC procedures and documents results before reporting.
• Maintains safety protocols and training requirements.
