Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a qualified Medical Technologist for the Blood Bank at Winston Campus. This full-time night shift position requires handling specimens, performing bank procedures, and maintaining accurate records to support safe patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or a chemical, physical or biological science per CLIA 493.1491.
• ASCP certification or equivalent required.
• NAACLS approved Medical Technology program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital and departmental policies and communicates professionally with staff to ensure quality patient care.
• Performs laboratory testing accurately and timely, with appropriate specimen handling and labeling.
• Maintains QC procedures, reviews results, and reports data to the LIS with attention to critical values and QA activities.
• Ensures safety and proper identification of patients and specimens, following SOPs and safety guidelines.
• Participates in continuing education and professional development, and supports team training and orientation.
