Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Technologist for the High Point Laboratory on the 3rd shift, Monday-Thursday, 8pm-0630am. This full-time position supports patient care by delivering accurate test results and handling blood components.

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree with NAACLS MT program plus MT ASCP certification; five years of clinical lab experience or two years with MLT certification; prior MT experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and NAACLS MT program completed.
• Five years of clinical lab experience, or two years with MLT certification.
• MT ASCP certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs and provides accurate laboratory test results on human patients.
• Prepares and issues blood components for patient transfusions.
• Assists in collection and transport of patient samples from clinics to laboratory sections.
• Handles hazardous materials in accordance with regulations to ensure safe working environment.
• Requisitions and maintains inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment as needed for laboratory operations.
• Supervises, trains, and reviews the work of students and lower-level technicians engaged in clinical laboratory work.
• Operates complex specialized laboratory instruments and instructs other personnel in their use.
• Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
