Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Laboratory Tech to join the Blood Bank team on a 36-hour full-time schedule from 7 pm to 7 am. The role requires a bachelor’s degree and MT/MLS registry eligibility, with eligibility to obtain certification within one year.

You will ensure testing procedures are followed, manage reagents and inventory, document corrective actions, and communicate shifts with leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; MT/MLS or equivalent registry eligible.
• MT (ASCP) or MLS(ASCP) or equivalent required within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proficiency and follows testing procedures by adhering to QA guidelines.
• Prepares reagents and maintains inventory to reduce waste/expense.
• Exercises clinical judgment in assessing priorities and troubleshoots test systems through proper channels.
• Reviews and revises procedures to maintain accreditation and regulatory compliance (CAP, TJC, OSHA).
• Maintains real-time shift-to-shift communications with leadership about issues.
• Participates in planning, staff meetings, and projects.
• Participates in competency assessment where qualified.
