Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a Medical Technologist for the Blood Bank Lab in Winston Campus. The role is full-time with third shift and weekend coverage as needed, offering a pay range of $30.70–$46.05 per hour and a 40-hour week.

Required is a Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related science, NAACLS approved program, and ASCP certification. Experience as MT preferred; CMP/BOC maintenance may apply. The department emphasizes accuracy and safety in all procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or a chemical, physical or biological science from an accredited university; meets CLIA 493.1491 qualifications.
• Experience as a Medical Technologist (MT) preferred.
• ASCP or equivalent certification required; CMP/BOC maintenance if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Ensures accurate and timely performance of laboratory testing.
• Performs procedures with minimal supervision and within required turnaround time.
• Properly identifies patients and labels specimens.
• Responds to STAT priority samples immediately and maintains QC procedures.
• Records and reviews results for accuracy before reporting in the LIS.
• Maintains professional image and communicates effectively with physicians, nurses and staff.
