Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an experienced QA/QC Lead for a full-time traveling assignment on a Biotech project in Raleigh, NC. The role focuses on developing and implementing the project QA/QC Plan and leading the QA/QC team to deliver a fully compliant project.

You will coordinate with owners, architects, subcontractors and vendors, ensure ethics and compliance, and continuously improve QA/QC procedures throughout project execution and close-out.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of five years' experience or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience and construction experience that bridges both field and engineering responsibilities.
• Knowledge of the construction process, means and methods, and materials, their characteristics, installation procedures and tolerances.
• Strong computer skills and a familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of Turner's project management software and leadership skills.
• Very strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Proven leadership qualities and skills with the desire to teach and mentor staff.
• May require QA/QC certification depending on specific project.

Responsibilities

• Manage the development and implementation of the project-specific QA/QC Plan in coordination with the project team, the owner/architect team and the contract documents.
• Ensure qualified staff are assigned to provide required knowledge and experience.
• Maintain collaborative relationships with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors and vendors to ensure compliance with the QA/QC Plan.
• Lead, supervise and develop Turner QA/QC staff; provide input on performance appraisals.
• Ensure strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements at all times.
• Develop working knowledge of contract documents (Turner's contract, plans, specs, codes).
• Develop engineering procedures including document control, RFIs, material samples, change orders within budget.
• Implement project-specific QA/QC Plan in coordination with the project safety plan.
• Coordinate QA/QC procedures with the project execution plan and schedule.
• Improve methods to document and track compliance with contract documents.
• Execute QA/QC plan engaging all project staff and partners.
• Conduct testing/inspections and arrange third-party testing; analyze and report results.
• Expand the QA/QC plan as the project progresses to improve procedures.
• Direct removal/replacement of non-compliant materials; document compliance after corrective work.
• Research/apply additional QA/QC and Lean procedures to improve project delivery.
• Oversee project close-out and quality reports.
