Job summary

Blue Water Thinking seeks a skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician to ensure reliability, safety, and proper functioning of medical equipment at the VA. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections, device security measures, and Cerner integration tasks.

The role requires a strong technical background, problem-solving ability, and a focus on patient care. Experience with Cerner EHR is preferred; position located in California with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Experience within a medical center and Biomedical Engineering department.
• Experience working in or with the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) or VISN operations.
• Understanding of regulatory agencies’ requirements and ISO standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on medical equipment to ensure safety and reliability.
• Carry out corrective maintenance and repair of devices per manufacturer guidelines.
• Conduct incoming inspections of new equipment for safety and accuracy.
• Collaborate with IT to implement medical device security and protect patient data.
• Install, calibrate, and configure equipment following manufacturer instructions.
• Conduct electrical safety inspections and address hazards.
