Job Description:
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Department of Science is seeking part-time Biology Instructorto teach a wide range of Biology courses offered, including HumanAnatomy & Physiology I and II with Labs and Survey of Biologywith Lab. This includes preparing and presenting lectures, leadingand facilitating classroom discussions, and evaluating and gradingstudent performance while maintaining a focus on pursuing equitablestudent outcomes. This may include teaching at multiple locations:Our Funeral Service program at the Bridgewater State Universitycampus or evening classes at the West Barnstable campus. Positionis to be filled for Spring 2027 semester.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
  1. Provide instruction in both traditional and non-traditionallearning modes.
  2. Select and develop appropriate materials for class use.
  3. Maintain appropriate attendance and learner records.
  4. Track and assess student progress based on quizzes, exams, andassignments.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
  1. Master's degree in Biology, or related Biology field.
  2. Experience teaching freshman and sophomore level biologycourses, preferably in a community college setting.
  3. Commitment to the community college philosophy.
  4. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skillsand a collaborative approach to working with students andcolleagues.
  5. Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

Additional Information:
COMPENSATION :

Anticipated staring salary - Step 1 DCE payscale (currently $4,536 for 3-credit course). Part-time,non-benefited MCCC/DCE Unit position.
