Job Description:

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The First Year Seminar (FSM101) is a one-creditcourse designed to provide students participating in the Advantage(TRIO SSS) Program with a successful transition into the Collegecommunity. The workshop format of the course provides students withinformation pertaining to the services and resources available atthe College. Course time will be spent on adapting executivefunctioning skills to the college environment and on settingwell-informed career and educational goals. The utilization oftechnology will be introduced.

The Instructor will teach one or two 1-credit classes onWednesdays, 11:00am-12:00pm and Thursdays, 9:30am-10:30am for theFall 2026 semester (September 8 - December 22, 2026).

• Select and develop appropriate materials for class use.
• Track and assess student progress.
• Maintain appropriate attendance and learner records.
• Work with Advantage Program staff to assess and addressindividual learner needs.

• Experience collaborating with advisors in TRIO or similarwrap-around support program

COMPENSATION

Anticipated starting salary - Step 1 DCE Payscale (currently $1,512 for 1-credit course). Part-time,non-benefited, grant funded DCE/MCCC Unit Position.
