Job Description:
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide clinical instruction to freshman and sophomore levelstudents in the Associate Degree Nursing Program, Day Option onTuesdays, and Thursdays. Evening/Weekend Option on Friday,Saturday, and Sunday. Instructional areas include fundamentals(subacute), pediatrics, maternity, medical-surgical nursing,community, and psych. The Nursing Clinical Instructor(s) play avital role in educating and training nursing students in clinicalsettings. This position is responsible for providing guidance,support, and evaluation during clinical rotations, ensuring thatstudents develop the necessary skills and competencies required fortheir nursing practice.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
  1. Instruct and oversee students in skill-based, low-fidelity, andhigh-fidelity lab settings.
  2. Facilitate hands‑on learning experiences, preparing students toapply nursing skills in diverse healthcare environments.
  3. Teach and demonstrate nursing procedures and techniques withinthe lab, ensuring students understand practical applications.
  4. Supervise and assess students' performance in lab activities,ensuring competency in clinical skills.
  5. Mentor and guide students, providing clinical insights andfostering the development of practical nursing abilities.
  6. Offer constructive feedback to students, assessing theircompetencies and progress in the lab setting.
  7. Create and maintain a supportive and positive learningenvironment conducive to skill development.
  8. Assess student learning through hands‑on evaluation of nursingskills in the lab.
  9. Attend faculty team meetings to collaborate and discussprogrammatic needs and improvements.
  10. Communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students toenhance the overall educational experience and fostercollaboration.
  11. Engage in program evaluations and contribute to continuousimprovement efforts to enhance nursing education.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse License.
  2. Five (5) years of clinical nursing experience.
  3. Must possess one of the following:
    1. Master's degree in nursing OR
    2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing with letter of intent to completeone of the following:
      • Certification in Nursing Education/Clinical (CNEcl) within 3years of hire.
      • Master's degree within 5 years of hire.
  4. Expertise and clinical experience in the area of application,including but not limited to fundamentals (subacute), pediatrics,maternity, community, psych, and medical-surgical nursing.
  5. Ability to create an environment conducive to learning.
  6. Ability to assess and evaluate student performanceeffectively.
  7. Proficient in using educational technology and teachingtools.
  8. Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, andfaculty.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Previous teaching or clinical instruction experiencepreferred.
  2. Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE)

COMPENSATION
