Lilly is investing in the Medicine Foundry in Lebanon, Indiana, to create a single location for research and manufacturing. We seek passionate scientists to join the PTE team to ensure right‑first‑time clinical manufacturing and successful technology transfer of biologics processes from development to production.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biological Engineering, or related disciplines.
• 5+ years of experience in biologics upstream and/or manufacturing API environments.
• Role requires onsite presence and US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and facilitate transfer of biologics manufacturing processes from development labs to manufacturing operations under supervision.
• Work in labs to generate data supporting tech transfer and troubleshoot operations on the floor.
• Receive process information from R&D, translate to production scale with operations and process engineering, and order raw materials.
• Familiar with biologics upstream unit operations (shake flask, N-3/2/1 process, bioreactor with/without perfusion) and downstream processes.
• Perform scale‑down/up studies to ensure plant readiness and evaluate new tech at small scale.
• Prepare analytical methods, analyze data, and support technical transfers with well‑documented results.
• Maintain organized lab notebooks and contribute to technical packages/transfer documentation.
• Draft and review SOPs, batch records, campaign summaries, and deviation reports.
• Identify process improvements and implement new technologies or procedures.
• Support investigations, RCA, and CAPAs in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
