Job summary

BioTalent is seeking an Associate Director of Business Development based in the Greater Boston area to drive commercial growth across biologics development and manufacturing services. This field-based role focuses on building strategic partnerships and expanding key accounts in biotech and pharma sectors.

You will lead meetings, proposals, and negotiations, managing a robust pipeline and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver tailored biologics solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Business, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience within biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, or CDMO environments.
• Proven success in business development, commercial leadership, sales, or strategic account management.
• Strong understanding of biologics development and manufacturing.
• Experience selling CDMO, contract manufacturing, development services, or related outsourced solutions.
• Ability to engage with stakeholders ranging from scientists through to C-suite executives.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Experience with biologics, mammalian cell culture, drug substance, or drug product manufacturing is highly desirable.
• Must be based in the Greater Boston area.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a territory growth strategy across the Northeast biotech hub
• Identify, engage, and win new business opportunities within biotech and pharmaceutical organizations
• Build relationships with scientific, technical, operational, and executive-level stakeholders
• Lead customer meetings, presentations, proposals, and commercial negotiations
• Partner with technical and operational teams to develop customer solutions
• Maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities and deliver against growth targets
• Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities across the biologics landscape
• Represent the organization at industry conferences, networking events, and customer meetings
