Job summary

Boston Institute of Biotechnology (BIB) seeks an Associate Director / Director to lead US East Coast business development, prospecting, and closing new opportunities in a field-based role.

You will leverage networks across biotech and pharma, collaborate with R&D and commercial teams, and travel as needed to establish offices and meet clients; salary range is $150,000–$180,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Life Sciences, Business, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of business development, sales, or related commercial experience in biotech/pharma.
• Experience selling complex technical services to biotech/pharma clients.
• Experience with CRO/CMO/CDMO a plus.
• Established network within biopharma industry preferred.
• Strong hunter mentality with ability to close deals.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• US eastern states resident or green card holder.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a proactive East Coast new business strategy.
• Identify decision-makers using databases, LinkedIn, and events.
• Initiate contact and secure new meetings with prospects.
• Leverage biopharma network to generate opportunities.
• Manage opportunities through qualification, proposal, negotiation, and contract.
• Maintain Salesforce records and provide forecasts.
• Collaborate with R&D, CMC, Ops, PM and Marketing to craft solutions.
• Lead negotiations and close complex commercial opportunities.
• Represent BIB at conferences and industry events.
