Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Biochemistry Laboratory Technician in Ohio to advance biological methods for extracting critical minerals. The role reports to the technical lead and will execute established lab procedures, focusing on protein expression and purification from microbial hosts.

You will perform biochemical assays, maintain instruments, document results, and collaborate with scientists. Regular hours with occasional weekend/evening work; strong communication and independence are

Qualifications

• B.S. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or 2–5 years related lab experience.
• Proficiency in molecular biology, biochemical workflows and related lab procedures.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision and learn new skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic calculations and unit conversions.
• Willingness to troubleshoot less-routine laboratory issues.

Responsibilities

• Independently execute protein expression and purification workflows from microbial hosts.
• Perform and document biochemical assays and troubleshoot deviations.
• General laboratory support and housekeeping.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot lab instruments; escalate complex issues.
• Follow health and safety requirements and document activities.
• Coordinate activities with scientists and communicate results clearly.
• Serve as a resource to colleagues with less experience.
