Job summary

AV is seeking a Biochemistry Laboratory Technician to advance methods for extracting critical minerals. You will execute protein expression/purification using microbial hosts, perform biochemical assays, and maintain lab operations within a collaborative team. Weekend and evening work may be required.

The role reports to the technical lead and requires strong communication, organization, and willingness to learn, with responsibilities spanning data management and cross-team coordination.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field or 2–5 years lab experience.
• Proficiency in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related lab procedures.
• Ability to execute established procedures with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Independently execute protein expression and purification workflows from microbial hosts using established protocols.
• Perform and document biochemical assays and troubleshoot deviations.
• General laboratory support and housekeeping.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot lab instruments and equipment.
• Follow health and safety requirements and document activities.
• Coordinate activities and communicate results to team members.
• Serve as a resource to colleagues and escalate complex issues.
