Job summary

Moderna Therapeutics in Norwood, MA seeks a motivated co-op student to support laboratory-based bioanalytical LC-MS/MS activities for clinical programs. You will gain hands-on experience in sample preparation, LC-MS/MS analysis, data processing, method development support, and regulated lab documentation alongside experienced scientists.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS or MS in chemistry, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, biotechnology, or related field.
• Interest in bioanalytical chemistry, mass spectrometry, and pharmaceutical/biotech research.
• Previous lab experience through coursework, research, internship, or co-op.

Responsibilities

• Support LC-MS/MS method development, optimization, and sample analysis under guidance.
• Perform sample prep from biological matrices using protein precipitation, SPE, LLE, enzymatic digestion, and related workflows.
• Prepare calibration standards, quality controls, reagents, buffers, and study samples.
• Assist with LC-MS/MS instrument setup, sequence preparation, and routine lab activities.
• Process and review analytical data using SCIEX platforms and Thermo Xcalibur.
• Support sample tracking, run management, and study documentation using Watson LIMS, ELN, and other systems.
• Maintain accurate experimental records per SOPs.
• Assist in evaluating assay performance like calibration curves and QCs.
