Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a Master’s program in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field.
  • Lab/co-op experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of HPLC, LC-MS, and analytical techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Execute in vitro experiments using LC-MS for screening lipid prodrugs.
  • Process and analyze samples to generate data for prodrugs (DMPK focus).
  • Contribute to LC-MS method development for quantitative/qualitative analyses.
  • Routine use and troubleshooting of LC-MS instrumentation.
  • Document all experiments using an electronic notebook and analyze data for reports.

Job Description

Seaport Therapeutics is seeking a co-op student for a lab-based bioanalysis position to be part of our Discovery team. This co-op will have a focus on LC-MS to assist in the screening of novel drugs. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is looking to be a part of a multidisciplinary team and to gain experience in a startup environment. This position will contribute to advancing the pipeline of impactful candidates generated from our novel Glyph™ prodrug platform.

Some of the responsibilities will include:

  • Executing in vitro experiments, using LC-MS, for the screening of lipid prodrugs to support preclinical discovery
  • Processing and analyzing in vivo samples (plasma, lymph fluid, etc.) to generate DMPK data for various prodrugs
  • Contributing to the development and optimization of LC-MS methods for both quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Routine use and troubleshooting of LC-MS instrumentation
  • Documenting all experiments using an electronic notebook and analyzing data for reports and regular internal presentations

Experience and Skills

  • Enrolled in a Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or related program at the Master’s Level
  • Previous Co-op or lab experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of or experience with: HPLC, reverse phase chromatography, mass spectrometry instrumentation, enzyme kinetics, protein precipitation, liquid-liquid extraction
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn.
