Job summary

M. J. Electric, LLC is seeking a seasoned BIM/VDC Lead to bridge design intent with field execution. You will translate drawings and 3D models into standardized documents used by installation crews on site.

You will coordinate with project teams, detailers, and foremen through design reviews, clash resolution, mark‑up standardization, and prefabrication support, while advancing BIM/VDC technologies and automation.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu, Autodesk Revit, and Navisworks.
• Strong understanding of electrical construction processes, NEC code requirements, and the project life cycle from design through field installation.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across design, engineering, and field teams.
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and QA/QC discipline.
• Familiarity with scripting or programming languages for BIM automation (Dynamo a plus).
• Advanced Excel skills (formulas, data manipulation) for managing schedule and takeoff data.
• 7+ years of BIM/VDC coordination, electrical detailing, or field electrical leadership.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, CAD, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design-to-Field Coordination: Review design documents, specifications, and coordination models for constructability and NEC compliance; submit RFIs and coordinate resolution with Engineers, architects, and foremen.
• Modeling and Clash Resolution: Manage 3D Revit models for BIM coordination and perform clash detection to minimize field errors.
• Mark‑Up Standardization: Develop and maintain Bluebeam Revu mark‑up procedures and toolsets for clear field drawings.
• Scheduling and Takeoff Support: Export and manipulate data to support estimating and prefabrication.
• Training and Support: Train foremen and field teams on BIM deliverables and mark‑up standards.
• Technology Evaluation: Stay current on BIM/VDC tools and recommend workflow improvements, including Dynamo.
• Special projects and other duties as assigned.
