Job summary

The Design Technology Coordinator at Intermountain Electric, Inc. (IME) bridges BIM VDC detailers and leads to deliver coordinated, high-quality models and consistent project standards. This role supports model management, clash detection, and cross-disciplinary coordination across office and field teams.

You will mentor BIM VDC Detailer I/II staff, help onboard new hires, stay current with BIM VDC advances, and contribute to process improvements while supporting project teams across Western US.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, or comparable BIM VDC software.
• Understanding of construction processes and project life cycles.
• Strong communication and collaboration capabilities across diverse project teams.
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
• Experience with cloud-based collaboration platforms.

Responsibilities

• BIM Implementation & Standards: Assist in executing BIM VDC processes on assigned projects.
• BIM Implementation & Standards: Support development and maintenance of BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).
• BIM Implementation & Standards: Ensure adherence to company standards, client requirements, and industry best practices.
• Modeling & Coordination: Manage coordination models using Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and related BIM tools.
• Modeling & Coordination: Perform clash detection and track resolution of coordination issues across trades.
• Modeling & Coordination: Produce 2D drawings, shop drawings, and model-based documentation.
• Modeling & Coordination: Provide model extracts and coordination reports to project teams.
• Collaboration & Communication: Serve as a liaison between Detailer I/II roles and the BIM VDC Lead.
• Collaboration & Communication: Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and field teams to ensure accurate system integration.
• Collaboration & Communication: Participate in and occasionally lead coordination meetings.
• Collaboration & Communication: Communicate effectively with project managers, foremen, and field crews to ensure constructability and timely issue resolution.
• Training & Team Support: Mentor and guide BIM VDC Detailer I and II team members.
• Training & Team Support: Assist with onboarding and training in BIM VDC workflows and software.
• Training & Team Support: Stay informed on BIM VDC advancements and recommend process improvements.
• Training & Team Support: Perform additional duties as assigned.
