Cox Automotive is seeking a Billing Specialist I to serve as the first point of contact for customers, handling inbound inquiries by phone and email while coordinating with internal teams. You will process invoices, credits, and adjustments; set up customer accounts; review billing information; and help resolve discrepancies, with attention to accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED with 2+ years billing-related experience; higher degrees add 1+ year
• Articulate issues, document resolution, and escalate when needed
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Accounting, organizational, attention to detail, and time-management skills
• Proficient computer skills; Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook and Oracle
• Experience with customers or vendors to resolve issues with strong customer service track record

Responsibilities

• Process billing transactions, invoices, credits, and account adjustments accurately within timelines
• Set up and maintain customer accounts in billing systems
• Review, verify, and audit billing information for accuracy
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues
• Post payments and adjustments to customer accounts
• Monitor billing reports and identify exceptions or issues
• Assist with collections activities and payment tracking as needed
• Coordinate with internal departments to resolve billing concerns
• Maintain records and supporting documentation
• Follow billing policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Support process improvements to enhance billing efficiency
