Smile Doctors is seeking a Financial Coordinator in Cambridge, MN to handle billing, collections, and insurance-related tasks. You will contact patients about past-due balances, facilitate payment arrangements, verify insurance coverage, and submit prior authorizations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in billing, collections, or insurance processing.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365, computers, and standard office equipment.
• Basic knowledge of mathematical principles.
• Basic knowledge of current collection laws preferred.
• Basic knowledge of insurance administration or processing.
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Applications with proficiency in SharePoint & Excel.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with patients regarding past-due accounts via phone, email, and text.
• Work with clinic team to ensure payments are collected.
• Collect and process payments on past-due accounts.
• Arrange payment plans as needed.
• Perform general office and administrative duties assisting with patient process.
• Greet and schedule patients.
• Assist with the New Patient process including calls and follow-through.
• Process and document clinic forms to ensure HIPAA and state compliance.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and submit prior authorizations.
• May reconcile cash balance and manage Accounts Receivable and Payables, including deposits.
• Adjust patient ledgers.
