Job summary

National Youth Advocate Program is seeking a Case Manager I for La Jornada to complete timely assessments and service plans, upload files to the ORR portal, and maintain comprehensive case records. You will work flexibly, including weekends and on-call shifts, and coordinate with sponsors, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support reunification and safety.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a social service field, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Counseling or other social service field.
• One (1) year experience preferred working with children and adolescents or in youth services.
• Excellent case management, verbal and written communication skills.
• Critical assessment and analysis skills.
• Ability to work under stress and multitasking.
• Must demonstrate a sincere commitment to service and advocacy for youth and families.
• Bilingual English/Spanish; fluency required.
• Must be able to obtain CPI and First Aid/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform case management assessments within ORR timeframes.
• Conduct on-site admission and intake interviews of youth and gather sponsorship information.
• Interview sponsors/family members to vet sponsor’s ability to care for youth.
• Coordinate with ORR stakeholders and prepare cases for staffing with multidisciplinary teams.
• Attend staffing with Case Coordinators and Federal Field Specialists as needed.
• Coordinate with local pro bono attorneys for Know Your Rights presentations and legal screenings.
• Document actions and contacts in progress notes and maintain files.
• Submit reunification packets and referrals for home studies and PRS.
