Job summary

O'Reilly Auto Parts is seeking a Store Assistant Manager to supervise professional and retail operations, lead team members, and participate in management development programs. The role focuses on hiring, training, safety compliance, sales, and KPI monitoring, with a clear progression toward store management at other locations.

Responsibilities include optimizing store operations, payroll, and performance reviews, as well as conducting weekly and monthly communications with the management team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Must complete Assistant Manager Certification, Sales Specialist Training, and Manager Development Program.
• Ability to read and match numerical/alpha characters quickly and accurately.
• Knowledge of automotive parts, equipment and systems.
• Desired: experience at O'Reilly store/distribution center; completed O'Reilly management training; advanced computer skills; ASE Certification; multilingual (Spanish).

Responsibilities

• Supervise the professional and retail operations of store and team members involved.
• Oversee recruiting, testing, hiring, evaluating, promoting, disciplining and discharging team members under supervision.
• Train new team members and conduct performance evaluations.
• Assist in the hiring process—recruiting, interviewing, and candidate evaluation.
• Support store manager and ensure safety training and compliance.
• Make sales calls and handle weekly customer calls as scheduled.
• Assist in store operations and fleet maintenance; manage scheduling and payroll systems.
• Review monthly P&L and KPI dashboards with store manager and identify opportunities.
