Job summary

Volt is hiring a Sanitation Associate in Vernon, CA. You will clean windows, dust surfaces, stock supplies, and maintain a safe, organized work area in a fast-paced facility.

This full-time contract role offers shifts with pay from $16.90 to $17.90 per hour, with differential by shift, plus benefits such as health, dental, vision, life, and a 401(k).

Responsibilities

• Clean windows, glass doors, glass walls, handrails, refrigerators, and microwaves using approved cleaning solutions.
• Dust and wipe down furniture, fixtures, and surfaces in assigned areas.
• Ensure soap, disinfectants, cleaning supplies, paper products, and other sanitation materials are stocked and readily available.
• Sweep and vacuum floors to remove dust and debris.
• Mop floors in restrooms, break rooms, laundry areas, production areas, and office spaces using proper procedures.
• Collect and remove trash, recyclables, and broken glass from designated areas and transport waste to outdoor disposal containers.
• Operate the cardboard compactor and move compressed bales onto pallets.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas to promote a safe work environment.
• Rotate among sanitation assignments and responsibilities as needed.
• Follow all company safety, quality, food safety, and sanitation procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Clean windows, glass doors, glass walls, handrails, refrigerators, and microwaves using approved cleaning solutions.
• Dust and wipe down furniture, fixtures, and surfaces in assigned areas.
• Ensure soap, disinfectants, cleaning supplies, paper products, and other sanitation materials are stocked and readily available.
• Sweep and vacuum floors to remove dust, debris, and other contaminants.
• Mop floors in restrooms, break rooms, laundry areas, production areas, and office spaces using proper cleaning and sanitation procedures.
• Collect and remove trash, recyclables, and broken glass from designated areas and transport waste to outdoor disposal containers.
• Operate the cardboard compactor by placing cardboard boxes into the machine and moving compressed bales onto pallets.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas to promote a safe work environment.
• Rotate among sanitation assignments and responsibilities as needed.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Requires continuous movement throughout the facility during scheduled shifts.
• Regular exposure to hot, wet, and humid environments, with temperatures ranging from approximately 80°F to 90°F.
• Occasional exposure to cold environments, with temperatures ranging from approximately 30°F to 40°F.
• Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying materials and equipment.
• Repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements to perform cleaning and sanitation activities.
• Frequent standing and walking for extended periods.
• Ability to safely handle cleaning supplies, sanitation chemicals, and equipment in accordance with company procedures and safety guidelines

Pay rate*: $ 16.90/hr - $ 17.90/hr. Pay differential based on shift
