Job summary

Empower is hiring a Retirement Plan Counselor in Portland, OR to deliver on-site and virtual education and enrollment presentations for defined contribution plans. The role supports the Relationship Management team, travels as needed, and requires Spanish fluency.

Candidate must reside in Portland or nearby and be eligible to work in the U.S. Responsibilities include driving plan enrollment, deferral increases, and rollovers, plus coordinating travel and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience considered.
• 2–4 years financial services experience.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
• Strong relationship building and territory management skills.
• FINRA Series 6 and Series 63 registrations within established timelines.
• Availability to travel with overnight stays.
• FINRA fingerprinting required.
• Fluent in Spanish.
• Working knowledge of Salesforce preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and facilitate communication and education strategies for one-on-one virtual and on-site group meetings.
• Drive participants to enroll, increase deferrals, and rollover from previous plans.
• Achieve business results and have impactful conversations while meeting SLAs.
• Complete reporting within required timeframes (log meetings, attendees, outcomes).
• Build strong relationships with key contacts, plan sponsor representatives, and internal stakeholders.
• Manage meeting schedule, including travel bookings.
• Provide feedback to local relationship managers on materials and strategies.
• Attend client meetings with service team members.
• May participate in finals presentations for new prospects in the territory.
