Job summary

Empower Retirement is hiring a Retirement Plan Counselor to educate and enroll participants in defined contribution plans across on-site and virtual formats in the Bay Area. You will use Empower's tools to drive participation, build relationships with plan sponsors, and support relationship managers in delivering outcomes.

Applicants must be fluent in Spanish, reside in the Bay Area, and have FINRA Series 6/63 and a Bachelor's degree with 2–4 years of financial services experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 2-4 years relevant financial services experience.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
• Strong relationship building and territory management skills.
• FINRA Series 6 and Series 63 registrations within established timelines.
• FINRA fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and facilitate communication and education strategies by conducting one-on-one virtual and on-site group meetings using various technologies in a professional manner.
• Drive participants to take measurable actions to improve retirement outcomes, including plan enrollment, deferral increases, and rollovers from previous plans.
• Achieve business results and facilitate impactful conversations while meeting service level agreements.
• Complete reporting requirements within required timeframes, including logging meetings, attendees, and outcomes in appropriate systems.
• Build strong relationships with assigned key contacts, plan sponsor representatives, and internal stakeholders to maximize participant outcomes.
• Manage meeting schedule, including travel booking.
• Provide feedback to local relationship managers about the effectiveness of communication materials and strategies and assist in identifying alternatives.
• Attend client meetings with other service team members.
• May participate in finals presentations for new prospects based on territory demands.
