Job summary

CSL in Chicago is seeking a Pheresis Technician responsible for preparing the donor area and equipment, monitoring during the pheresis process, and ensuring donor safety in a fast-paced clinical setting. The role requires attention to detail and strict adherence to SOPs.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, at least three months of medical or health provider experience, and basic math skills. Training is provided, with opportunities to grow in a donor center environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum three months of work experience in medical or health provider environment preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare donor, donor area, and equipment for pheresis.
• Prepare autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor donor and pheresis process; respond to alarms.
• Disconnect donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions; notify staff.
• Use PDA to record incidents, alarms, volumes, and donor adverse events.
• Link equipment and soft goods to the donor in the PDA.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor to donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Understand policies for hyper-immune programs if applicable.
• Maintain clean, safe work area; ensure supplies; follow HSE/OSHA policies; promote safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas.
• Bilingual skills may be required at the organization’s discretion.
• Perform job-related duties as assigned.
