Job summary

CSL is seeking a Pheresis Technician to prepare the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis process, while actively monitoring the donor and process for alarms and reactions.

You will document incidents using a PDA, link equipment to donors, and maintain accurate donor data in the center system. The role requires adherence to HSE/OSHA policies and confidentiality across all center activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three months’ work experience in a medical or health provider environment.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitors the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnects the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintains alertness to any reaction donor may have during or after the pheresis process and notifies appropriate staff.
• Uses PDA to record incidents during the pheresis process and link equipment to the donor.
• Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensures accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information system.
• Maintains a clean, efficient work environment and ensures supplies are available; follows HSE/OSHA policies.
• Maintains confidentiality of personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas.
• Bilingual skills may be required, at the discretion of the organization.
