Job summary

CSL is seeking a Donor Center Pheresis Technician to prepare donors, equipment and the donor area for pheresis procedures. You will monitor donors, respond to alarms, and ensure safety and accurate data capture in the donor information system.

Responsibilities include operating the apheresis machine, documenting events via PDA, and maintaining compliance with SOPs and OSHA/HSE policies. Some cross-training and bilingual abilities may be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
  • Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
  • Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals during the process.
  • Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
  • Maintain alertness to any donor reaction and notify appropriate staff.
  • Record incidents using the PDA, including machine alerts, alarms, variances and adverse events.
  • Link equipment and supplies used to the appropriate donor in the PDA.
  • Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
  • Record donor data accurately in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
  • Understand policies and procedures related to hyper-immune programs when applicable.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment and ensure supplies are available, following HSE and OSHA policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
  • May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
  • Bilingual skills may be required at the organization’s discretion.
