Job summary

GBMC HealthCare seeks an experienced front-desk registrar to screen visitors, schedule appointments, and register patients with precision in a busy, patient‑facing setting.

Ideal candidates will know CPT/ICD9 codes, communicate clearly, and manage multiple tasks while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. A High School diploma and 6 months related experience are expected; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum 6 months of related experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to organize and maintain patient files and records.
• Basic computer skills; bilingualism preferred (Spanish or Russian).

Responsibilities

• Receive and screen visitors and calls, relay information per policy.
• Schedule patient appointments using a computerized system or paper calendar.
• Perform registration duties and update patient charts.
• Code lab requisitions with patient data for processing and charging.
• Coordinate scheduling of tests and procedures with providers and payers.
• Fax or forward patient progress notes to referring physicians as needed.
