Job summary

Esperanza Health Centers on Chicago's West Side is seeking a Patient Service Representative (PSR) to be the welcoming face of the clinic. You will handle check-in/check-out, guide patients through insurance questions, and coordinate with clinicians to ensure a smooth flow of care.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills—you're a warm, welcoming communicator.
• Reliable attention to detail and organizational precision.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment.
• HIPAA familiarity and ability to handle confidential patient data with care.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish required.
• Minimum 1 year of admin/front desk experience in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, visitors, and families and assist with check-in/check-out.
• Provide clear information about appointments, services, insurance, and policies.
• Protect patient privacy in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Join daily huddles as a voice in clinic operations and act as a communication hub between patients and staff.
• Register new and returning patients, verify insurance, and document accurately.
