Job summary

Emerus Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Patient Access Specialist at our Kelly location.

This role serves as a liaison among patients, payers, and Patient Financial Services to verify demographics, collect out-of-pocket responsibility, and maximize hospital reimbursement. You will ensure accurate registration, verify insurance benefits, obtain authorizations when needed, and assist with transfers and notifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of patient registration and insurance verification experience preferred.
• Emergency Department registration experience preferred.
• Knowledge of various insurance plans (HMO, PPO, POS, Medicare, Medicaid) and payors required.
• MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain EMTALA, DNV, HIPAA compliance in Admissions and Medical Records handling.
• Provide excellent customer service and build quality relationships with patients and families.
• Identify and triage patients upon arrival to the hospital to support safety and accuracy.
• Answer calls professionally and relay messages to medical staff.
• Verify demographic information and collect required consents and signatures.
