Job summary

Emerus is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to act as a liaison between patients, payers, and the healthcare team. You will facilitate patient tracking and billing, verify demographics, secure payments, and maximize hospital reimbursement.

Responsibilities include ensuring proper patient identification, providing courteous service, and handling registrations and documentation in the revenue cycle. English fluency is required; bilingual skills may be needed in some markets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of patient registration and insurance verification experience preferred.
• Emergency Department registration experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of various insurance plans (HMO, PPO, POS, Medicare, Medicaid) and payors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with EMTALA, DNV, HIPAA and related regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service and build quality relationships.
• Assist with patient identification and triage upon arrival.
• Verify insurance benefits and enter accurate demographic information.
• Obtain signatures on forms and manage cash drawer and logs.
