Primary Health Care Inc. seeks a Patient Services Specialist I to ensure a positive patient experience at PHC Engebretsen Medical Clinic in Des Moines, IA. The role includes financial screening, insurance enrollment assistance, and billing support, with collaboration across billing and clinic staff.

The position requires bilingual English/Spanish communication, a high school diploma, and 2+ years in healthcare or customer service. Mon-Fri 8-5, 40 hours/week, Des Moines.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in healthcare, human services, or social services; or three years in customer service.
• Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills are required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and using an electronic health record system.

Responsabilités

• Review revenue cycle processes and screen patients for financial assistance and payment plans.
• Outreach to patients with past balances or uninsured to determine next steps.
• Assist patients with Medicaid, Marketplace enrollment, and other insurance programs.
• Help patients apply for sliding fee schedules and maintain financial assistance files.
• Perform back-billing and resolve billing questions with the Billing Department.
• Monitor payer mix and report to Clinic Director; provide coverage for Patient Access Representatives.
